These fittings are designed to be used in highly mass stressed environments. Characteristically, these fittings are stamped with their designated WLL which incorporates a Safety Factor and complies with a published specification. These highly mass stressed environments include lifting, rigging, process plants, mines or aerospace.

Commercial Fittings
... are made from a host of materials with each being application appropriate.
If they are made from metal, then it is often a softer low carbon steel with a zinc plating to inhibit corrosion. Commercial fittings often have the same form factor as their Marine or Rated counterparts - but they are designed to be used in applications that are not highly stressed by either mass or environment.
