SSR vs RFQ

Basically, we get both SSRs and RFQs on a regular basis. Currently, we ignore one and respond to the other.

As a Strategic Supplier, we provide a number of ‘essential’ components to a huge range of diverse specialized manufacturers where those components are critical success factors (CSF) to their products or production process… and we ignore RFQs

RFQ = Request for Quotation

Everyone deserves an excellent ‘deal’ and pricing is a good part of any deal. But pricing isn’t everthing. So if you send us an RFQ or just ask for the lowest price on a bunch of bits, then “… thank you very much”, but if we don’t know your business we will not respond.

Low Cost Wire sells many ‘bits and pieces’  with excellent pricing. Hence our Price Match & Promise. And our service in terms of shipping, consulting, prototyping, product development is quite spectacular based on feedback and reviews in social media. But there is a cohesive nature to our product and service mix.

And while it may sound strange and run counter to our ‘industry’ –  Low Cost Wire chooses to provide sets of component, that work together to coherently adress a clients challenge. And this consulting is free 🙂

SSR = Strategic Supply Request

Often, we are introduced to a new client (through Google) as a low priced additional / supplemental / emergency supplier.  This can work well because of our range and pricing. But we are better as a strategic supplier.

Strategic Supply comes from a mutual understanding between a client and a supplier in a relationship where product dimensionality, quality, packaging format (e.g. spool dimensionality and composition) are critical parameters. So if we know what a client wants and we understand why that component is a CSF – then we will work extremely hard to support our clients by maintaining a quality, available supply of items. If you include our manufacturing, prototyping and research capabilities – we can work magic 🙂

So if a reliable supply is required, and you would like to explore or understand more about Strategic Supply arrangements, then please let us know – or you can call +61 (02) 9979 5812 and have a conversation with Scott. If there is a good fit and there is apparent mutual benefit, we will truly try to help without requiring any commitment on your side.
