The Fork Terminal – 3.2mm G316 Stainless Steel is hydraulically swaged (connected by a cold pressure weld) to the wire to terminate an end. As a result, this end can be fastened to an attachment point (e.g. a saddle or a lag screw eye). The Fork Terminal – 3.2mm G316 Stainless Steel is sized to suit a specific diameter of wire. As well, the terminals logically pair with other adjustable fittings – normally of a similar hydraulic swaging style – that work with the same diameter of wire rope.

Usage: The Fork Terminal is hydraulically swaged onto the wire rope which fastens to an attachment point (such as a saddle or a lag screw eye) on the posts or uprights that form the frame or area that will contain the wire. The swaging process is actually a cold pressure weld. As a result, swaging requires powerful tools with very high compression forces. These tools are specialized and often hydraulical in nature. For accuracy, the Fork Terminals are sized to the specific diameter of wire. Because a Fork Terminal is a non adjustable fitting, they are used in concert with other adjustable fittings such as turnbuckles – normally with a similar swaging style – that work with the same diameter of wire rope. They are used extensively in our pre-selected Balustrade Kits.
