Jack Nuts are a lightweight, lower cost, wider range of application metal insert that is similar to Rivet Nuts, Rivnuts, or Captive Nuts.  Jack Nuts fit a single thread diameter and pitch. Other fittings can used with Jack Nuts when they match the pitch of the fitting. Jack Nuts also require proper installation tools for their use.

Usage: Jack Nut Zinc Plated Steel threaded inserts (jackserts) provide a captive nut in non-load bearing applications. Upon installation, the slotted sleeves collapses to form a propeller shape configuration which gently grips the inside of the mounting surface – providing a screw anchor. Ideal for numerous lightweight materials including cardboard, & thin plastics. Jack Nuts are a cost saving alternative to Rivet Nuts that can also accommodate oversized holes and be installed in uneven materials without distorting the material..
