Description

This awesome Light Duty Hex Hand Swager is an economical light duty alternative to our Hydraulic Swaging tools – if you are only ever going to work on small projects with 2.0mm, 2.4mm, 3.0mm or 3.2mm wire rope and the associated Hydraulically Swaged Fittings.

It comes with rotating dies in a number of sizes – including the #8 dies (for 3.2mm fittings) amd the #6 does (for 2.4mm fittings). While compact, this light duty tool can function as a stop-gap swaging tool for stainless steel fittings.. As well, this tool has the improved lever shafts secured with high grade bolts in the fulcrum. It is well designed with reliable, solid construction and works with Hydraulically swaged Stainless Steel fittings suiting 2.4mm, 3.0mm or 3.2mm Wire Rope

Usage: This tool generates force equivalent to 5 Tons ‘at the head’ – which means when the area of the dies is considered – the effective pressure is 64 Tons / in2. That is enormous and has the ability to “pressure weld” the fittings into the wire rope – it just does it with manual leverage, high grade bolts and forged metal jaws. Please note that the fulcrum bolts of this tool are its weak point. The result is that the tool is only good for ~30 compressions before it is stretched beyond usability.
