Description

Hook Eye Turnbuckle Thimble Swage Saddle SRKit is configured to suit a Short Run (SR – under 10M) of stainless steel wire rope. As well, the fittings can be chosen to suit the diameter of rope used.

There is a single Hook Eye Turnbuckle to provide a singletensioning point on Short Runs. The Long Run configuration uses two Hook Eye Turnbuckles (one on each end) to provide dual tensioning points. There are two Eye Straps(Saddles) secured by fasteners of your choicethat that you provide and these form the two attachment points. These attach directly into softwood or hardwood timber postsor metal posts or some combination thereof.

Application: Hook Eye Turnbuckle Thimble Swage Saddle SRKithas one end of the run withan Hook Eye Turnbuckle attached to the wire using a thimble and swage (they form a terminal Loop). The other end of the wire has another thimble and swage (terminal loop). This terminal loop either attaches directly to the saddles. The attachment points are Eye Straps(saddles) which are secured using a fastener of your choice. We recommend using rivets on Metal Posts, CounterSunk Self Tapping Screws on softwood, and Pan Head Self Tapping Screws on Hardwood. NOTE: fasteners are NOT provided in this kit

Wire may be installed through the intermediate posts and ‘cut to length’. Drill the intermediate posts out to at least 4mm prior to swaging in place. Before swaging, please expand allof the tensioners so that the maximum adjust-ability is available.

Alternately, if you build the wire before you install it, then the length of a wire run is determined by the ‘inside to inside’ post measurement less a fixed amount which represents the distance between the attachment posts ‘taken up’ by the fittings when installed and adjusted properly. This number represents the amount we would cut off in the factory to custom build wires with this kit for a given length. We recommend cutting, building, installing and reviewing your installation to ensure that it looks the way YOU want it to look once its complete.
