Description
Hook Eye Turnbuckle Thimble Swage Short Screw Eye LRTTKit suits a run of wire of 10 meters or more (hence the LR or Long Run). There are two tensioning points and two attachment points. attachments are two 6mm x 40mm Lag Screw Eyes. These attach directly into Timber posts (hence the TT or Timber to Timber).
Application:The first end of the run has a Hook Eye Turnbuckle (for wire tensioning) swaged to the wire. This attaches to the first 6mm x 40mm Lag Screw Eye. The 6mm x 40mm Lag Screw Eye fastens to a timber post or wall. The second end uses another Hook Eye Turnbuckle (for wire tensioning) swaged to the wire to attach to the second 6mm x 40mm Lag Screw Eyes which is fastened to the second post or wall. We recommend that the end posts are pilot hole drilled with a 4mm Extra Long HSS Drill Bit and tapped with an M6 Threader. Both Drill Bits and Threaders are available on this site.
Wire may be installed through the intermediate posts and ‘cut to length’. Please make sure you expand the turnbuckles before measurement and drill the intermediate posts out to at least 4mm prior to swaging in place if the are stainless steel.
Alternately, if you build the wire before you install it, then drill out the intermediate posts to 8mm to pass the fittings. The length of a wire run is determined by the ‘inside to inside’ post measurement less a fixed amount which represents the distance between the attachment posts ‘taken up’ by the fittings when installed and adjusted properly.
