Wooden Post Lag Threader The nifty little Wooden Post Lag Threader tool is designed to pre-thread your timber posts to make installation easier. Our workshop have cut blades into existing fittings so that you don’t have to do this job. Using the same (exact) thread as our fittings makes the match of the tool to the thread trivial. It works every time. Our Wooden Post Lag Threaders come in both left and right hand threads to suit your fittings.
Application: Using a drill, simply insert the tool into pre-drilled (pilot) holes in your end posts – zip it in and out – and feel the difference as you screw the fittings in. The best part is that if you screw it up and do it backwards – nothing is ruined. (you STILL look like a hero). However, if you have an impact driver (that you got a great deal on…) just throw the stupid thing away. Simply use a variable speed drill and both you, your posts, and your fittings will thank you…
