The Light Duty Hand Swaging Tool is a 254mm 3 Hole Swaging Tool. It includes a cutting ability. This tool will compress or crimp or swage a range of sizes of ferrules. This tool is available in either Stainless Steel or forged steel construction. Its designed with 3 crimping holes to meet your different needs – all made from hardened steel. The jaws are suitable for both aluminium, copper, and brass sleeves. The 3 Holes (crimping positions) suit swages/ferrules for 0.5mm, 0.6mm, 0.8mm, 1.0mm, 1.2mm, 1.5mm  and 1.6mm wire rope.


Features:  The Light Duty Forged Hand Swaging Tool is portable.  Therefore, it is light enough to carry.  Conveniently, this tool  has a Fiber Leash – so it will not fall overboard. The smooth one Handed operation does not require any additional Vibration damping Rubber Grips.  Additionally, the tool has forged jaws and a 2 Side Cutters. The two convenient side cutters work on wire up to 2.0mm Galvanised or Stainless Steel Wire Rope. Finally, the Swaging tool has  precision ground Factory formed Swaging Holes for consistent perfect swaging every single time!


Usage: The Light Duty Forged Hand Swaging Tool is recommended for Swaging of Hourglass Ferrules or Swages.  LCW Recommends Nickel Coated Copper or Aluminium swages.  The tool suits swaging 0.5mm, 0.6mm, 0.8mm, 1.0mm, 1.2mm, 1.5mm  and 1.6mm wire rope.

Usage Tips

In general, this tool swages / crimps / squishes aluminium and copper - please note that it will NOT work on Stainless Steel fittings (often called or referred to as Hydraulically Swaged Fittings - these fittings logically require a hydraulic swaging tool to pressure weld the wire into the fittings...


Wire is placed between the slots on either side of the tool and as the tool is closed, the wire is cut cleanly.


Swaging it the act of reducing a oval shaped Ferrule into a tube. The Ferrule is used with a thimble to form a terminal loop in the wire. The Swaging tool is opened up and the top handle is held with the bottom handle resting on a bench or the floor. The Ferrule is then placed between the jaws so that closing of the tool will result in the ovoid shape being reduced to a tube.
