Usage: This pin is inserted smoothly into a drilled hole – normally in hollow section material – that is less than57mm (distance from detent to the ring). As the fitting emerges, the compressed detent extends and holds the pin in place. Such pins or anchors can attach one object to another in situations where screws, nails, adhesives, or other simple fasteners are either impractical or ineffective. Different types have different levels of strength and can be used on different types of surfaces.
Please note that these Spring Detent Retention Pins work well in most directions of force – shear force is excellent but direct tension in-line with the pin could cause the detent to collapse.
