Oval Aluminium 6.0mm Swage Sleeves include crimps, clamps, or ferrules. Additionally, these Swage Sleeves are oval in shape and we recommend Machine (Hydraulic Press) swaging. Consequently, Oval Swages are “machine swages”. Swaging compression reduces the oval to a tube. Additionally, Conversely Duplex Swages are “manual swages”. Our oval machine Swages require hydraulic swaging in diameters of 2.0mm or greater. Swage Sleeves sizing is precise. As a result, a Swage Sleeve fits a limited range of wire diameters. Stainless Steel thimbles complement these Swage Sleeves.

Usage: The Oval Aluminium 6.0mm Swage Sleeves suit galvanised wire applications. Our aluminium alloy is not-compatible with G316 Stainless Steel Wire Rope. Generally, Swage Sleeves require thimbles (the tear drop shaped thin strips of metal that go inside of the Terminating Loop). Sleeves with thimbles distribute the force of the bearing point evenly. Consequently, this minimizes wear and stretch on the wire cable. The swage and thimble are then secured using an appropriate crimping tool. The thimble forms the ‘loop’ that is normally fastened to the saddle, eye screw/bolt or a shackle already secured to the posts or uprights that form the frame or area that will contain the wire.
