Replacing Trailer Brake Cable

So the brake cable on your trailer is getting rusty, frayed and possibly dangerous… so you want to replace it!

Good Choice. Now, you could probably use Stainless Steel (bit more expensive) but Galvanised Wire is used conventionally.

The rule of thumb in repairs is to replace like with like (safest), but people often upgrade to Stainless Steel. The key is to choose a flexible wire (lots of strands) in a diameter that is very close to your existing wire rope (and please measure with a vernier caliper :).  So we have listed some options with links below.
