Lag Screw 1×19 Full Deck Kit groups tools and fittings required for fitting RHT and LHT Lag Screws with 1×19 Stainless Steel Wire. This kit provides the basics components – Basically you need:
- Wire (of some length) which sort of depends on the project.
- Lag Screws (1 LHT and 1 RHT for each wire). These fasten to the wire to itself with a cold forging (swaging) process using hydraulic pressure,
- Cutter which simply cuts the wire
- Swager (swaging or pressure welding tool) These are available in a hydraulic form with battery or armstrong power, and a
- Installation Tools pair of open ended spanners to allow the wires to be ‘rotated’
Usage: Using the Lag Screw 1×19 Full Deck Kit is easy. Simply cut the wires to length (30mm less than the inside-to-inside post measurement), slip one end into a LHT Lag Swage Screw and swage it, slip the other end of the wire into a RHT Lag Swage Screw and swage it. Drill 4mm pilot holes for the anchor posts and 8mm holes for any intermediate posts. Slide the wire into place and rotate it – both ends at the same time – so this makes it a 2 person install.
