Swage Sleeve 3.0mm Round Aluminium Swage can be used to fix to single wire ropes. Our Stopper fittings are called a wide variety of things including Clamp single stopper Aluminum Swage Sleeves, also known as Round Ferrules. Basically, they are bits of Aluminum that are designed to pass over the wire rope and be hand swaged (manually or hydraulically) on the wire to act as a ‘stop’ point. In practice, this is putting a manually swaged terminal on the wire.
Usage: Swage Sleeve 3.0mm Round Aluminium Swages are used in winch or winding set ups with various types of lifting or control cables. Please note that the retention strength of these fittings is ~50% of the MBS of the wire to which they are fastened. Aluminium is best used on mild steel, galvanized steel, high tensile steel – NOT stainless steel – wire or wire rope as aluminum and stainless steel cause a dissimilar alloys interaction (galvanic reaction).
