Hook Eye Turnbuckles
Hook Eye Turnbuckles are in the category of Open Turnbuckles because the body of the Turnbuckle is ‘open’. They are ideal fasteners for projects requiring tensioners or turnbuckles for stainless steel wire rope. The welded eye at one end makes these fasteners extremely secure once installed, and the open hook at the other end allows for easy installation, as well as being compatible with a variety of fastening fittings, including screw eyes, eye bolts, and saddles. They easily adjust on a secured post, frame or wall when attached, providing a rustic or industrial appearance for that timeless look.
With both right-hand and left-hand threads, the body of the turnbuckle can easily provide tension to your wire rope, without bending or stretching the wire. You can tighten the body of the turnbuckle without a c-spanner by rotating the body clockwise until tensioned to your needs with your fingers.
Certified G316 stainless steel, the Hook Eye Open Turnbuckles will work with a range of fittings. Generally, the these turnbuckles work with terminal loops formed with ferrules and thimbles. The ferrules are manually swaged fittings that require a manual hand swager to crimp the fitting to the appropriate diameter of wire rope.
All additional fittings and tools mentioned: ferrules, thimbles, saddles, screw eyes, eye bolts, pad eyes and manual hand swagers are available through our store as well. The Hook Eye Turnbuckles are primarily sized according to the diameter of wire with which they work and they are used in concert with other fittings – normally with a similar swaging style – that work with the same diameter of wire rope.
