Swage Bolt RHT LHT Swivel Bolt SRMM

Description

Swage Bolt RHT LHT Swivel Bolt SRMMKit suits a run of wire of 10 meters or less (hence the SR or Short Run) on an angle (ramp or stairs). Fittings include a Right Hand Thread (RHT) & a Left Hand Thread (LHT) Terminal Swage Bolt that form two attachment points in combination with Swivel Bolts (also both RHT and LHT). Together, these inserts attach directly into Metal posts (hence the MM or Metal to Metal) once the posts are drilled and tapped.

Application

All attachment points must be drilled and tapped with RHT and LHT threads respectively. The first end of the run has a RHT Swage Bolt swaged to the wire and this attaches to the first timber post or wall using a RHT Swivel Bolt. As well, the second end uses an LHT Swage Bolt which is fastened to the second post or wall with the second LHT Swivel Bolt.

If the intermediate posts are not stainless steel – they will require grommets to avoid a dissimilar alloys reaction. Wire may be installed through the intermediate posts and ‘cut to length’. Please make sure you cut the wire beforehand. It is VERY difficult to ‘cut to size’ once the Terminal Swage Bolts are installed. Drill the intermediate posts out to at least 4mm prior to swaging in place – our grommets require and 8mm hole.

Alternately, if you build the wire before you install it, then the length of a wire run is determined by the ‘inside to inside’ post measurement. This length has a fixed amount removed. Because the fixed amount represents the distance between the attachment posts ‘taken up’ by the fittings when installed and adjusted properly. This number represents the amount we would cut off in the factory to custom build wires with this kit for a given length. We recommend cutting, building, installing and reviewing your installation to ensure that it looks the way YOU want it to look once its complete.

Please note that we strongly recommend that installation of these kits requires 2 people.
