These DIY Kits for Garage Door Cables 7.0kN G2070 Galvanised Steel are made from 3.2mm 7×19 G2070 Galvanised Steel Wire Rope which is marine grade – bare and naked for a total Outside Diameter of 3.2mm. Kits are sold with materials for a pair of cables (one for each side of the garage door 🙂 All you do is measure, cut, and squish (swage) the fittings. Finally, the cables use 3.2mm 7×19 Marine Grade Galvanised Steel Wire Rope. Tensile Strength (MBS) = ~713.8 kg or 7.0kN .
Usage: This flexible safety wire fastens easily, bends readily, and resists kinking. The wire will not stretch and units are available in the 3 most common lengths. Always ensure that there are 3-5 wraps on wire on the take up reel at all times. Lengths (L) are measured from ‘center of eye’ to ‘center of stop’. Using combinations of lanyards to get the desired total length is NOT recommended. Construction of the 28mmSoft Eye and the End stop are completed with the included Aluminium Swage Sleeves
