Safety Wire SESE 1.2mm / 1.5mm 200mm 7X7 G316 Stainless Steel

Materials per wire:

  1. 2 x 2.0mm Hourglass Ferrules of Nickel Plated Copper
  2. Blank of 1.2mm/1.5mm 7×7 Nylon Coated G316 Stainless Steel Wire Rope

Construction

  1. Cut Wire Blanks of 1.2mm/1.5mm 7×7 Nylon Coated G316 Stainless Steel Wire Rope where CoE to CoE Target length is 200mm
  2. Each Soft Eye uses up 48mm when created using the drop anchor mandrel – so add it to calculate the length of the blank
  3. Cut blanks to 296mm = 200 + (2*48.0mm)
  4. Use 2.0mm Nickel Plated Copper Swages and Hold the Soft Eye formed by the DAM tightly allowing ~1.5mm of wire to protrude on the backside of the swage sleeve
  5. Using the 1.5mm Dies of the Manual Bench Swager – press the sleeve 3 times – first by the mandrel catching the back edge of the sleeve, then at the front catching the front end of the sleeve and finish the middle for uniformity.
  6. repeat for the other side
  7. If possible – align the faces of the soft eyes.
