Safety Wire HEHE Black PVC Coated 3.2mm/4.0mm 1000mm 7X7 G316 Stainless Steel

Materials per wire:

  1. 2 x 4.0mm Oval Aluminium Swage Sleeve
  2. 2 x 35m 8.0mm Black 4:1 Heatshrink
  3. 2 x 4.0mm Stainless Steel Thimbles
  4. Blank of 3.2mm/4.0mm Black PVC Coated G316 Stainless Steel Wire Rope

Construction

  1. Cut Wire Blanks of Black PVC Coated 3.2mm/4.0mm 7×7 G316 Stainless Steel Wire Rope where T2T Target length is 1000mm
  2. The length of each Hard Eye 51mm, which uses up 114mm of wire so an additional 63mm is needed to complete the “hard eye”
  3. Cut blanks to 1126mm = 1000mm + (2*63.0mm)
  4. Strip length is 0.0mm as the coating is retained in this version.
  5. Slip both pieces of the Heat Shrink over one end of the blank
  6. For each end:
    1. Use the 4.0mm Oval Aluminium Swage Sleeve to hold the Soft Eye formed by the 4.0mm Stainless Steel Thimble, allowing 1.5mm of wire to protrude on the backside of the swage sleeve
    2. Using the Crimping jaws are from 240 – hex shape for 5.0mm stainless steel fittings in the Hydraulic Bench Press and press the oval swage sleeve to ~3000PSI
    3. Slide the Heat Shrink over the (now) hexagonal swage sleeve forming the loop and change ends
  7. Apply heat using a Heat Gun to the Heat Shrink Tubing to complete the wire.
