Round Aluminium Lifting Stops are specialized round swages that can be used to fix to single wire ropes. Our Lifting Stops are called a wide variety of things including Clamp Single wire stopper Aluminum Swage Sleeves, also known as Round Ferrules. Basically, they are similar to a standard Round Aluminium Ferrule. The difference is that they are substantially longer and thicker. This enables them to function as load bearing stops on lifting cables of the type that are used in automotive pillar lifts.
Usage: Round Aluminium Lifting Stops are used in applications with various types of lifting or control cables where the must be LOAD BEARING. Please note that the retention strength of these fittings exceeds the MBS of the wire to which they are fastened – when they are PROPERLY swaged. Aluminium is best used on mild steel, galvanized steel, high tensile steel – NOT stainless steel – wire or wire rope as aluminum and stainless steel cause a dissimilar alloys interaction (galvanic reaction).
