Safety Wire PEPE-10.0/5.0 2.0mm 250mm 7X7 G316 Stainless Steel

Materials per wire:

  1. 1 x 10.0mm G304 Pressed Eye
  2. 1 x 5.0mm G304 Pressed Eye
  3. Blank of 2.0mm 7×7 G316 Stainless Steel Wire Rope

Construction:

  1. Cut Wire Blanks of 2.0mm 7×7 G316 where CoE to CoE Target length is 250mm
  2. The 4.0mm Pressed Eye extends the length of wire by 7.0mm and the 10.0mm Pressed Eye extends the length of wire by 9.0mm
  3. Cut blanks to 234mm = 250mm – (9.0mm + 7.0mm)
  4. For each Pressed Eye and using the smallest vise grips hold the pressed eye as close to the ‘tube’ as possible, then “round” the crimping tube with cold forging using
    • the bench swager and the 1.5mm aperture, or
    • “round” hand crimper
  5. Using the C-Head and the Yellow Press with YCP-70C Dies (anvil and round 2.0mm)
    • Hold the rounded pressed eye as close to the ‘tube’ as possible
    • Place the open side of the round in the half tube side of the die set – holding the eye up tight from the side and into the dies.
    • Insert the blank all the way and place the formed pressed eye into the dies and exert compression force
      • until the pressure relief valve is triggered on the YCP-70C, or
      • until 1500 PSI on the Bench Press
  6. Repeat for the other side and align the faces of the pressed eyes.
