Anchor Strop 0.5M Black PVC Coated 6.0mm 7X19 G316 Stainless Steel

Materials per wire:

  1. 2 x 6.5mm Oval Copper Swage Sleeve
  2. 2 x 50mm 16.0mm Black 4:1 Heatshrink
  3. 2 x 7.0mm Stainless Steel Thimbles
  4. Blank of 6.0mm 7×19 Black PVC Coated G316 Stainless Steel Wire Rope

Construction

  1. The length of each Hard Eye 75mm (to the tip) or 65mm to the CoE, which uses up 175mm of wire.
  2. Cut blanks to 700mm = 500 – (2*75mm) + (2*175.0mm) T2T or 720mm = 500 – (2*65mm) + (2*175.0mm)
  3. Strip length is 175.0mm as the coating is removed in this version.
  4. Slip both 50.0mm pieces of the Heat Shrink over one end of the blank
  5. For each end:
      1. Use the 6.5mm Oval Copper Swage Sleeve to hold the HardEye formed by the 7.0mm Stainless Steel Thimble, allowing ~5mm of wire to protrude on the backside of the swage sleeve
      2. Using greased Swaging Dies are from the HP240-C – round shape for 6.5mm stainless steel fittings in the Hydraulic Bench Press and press the oval swage sleeve to ~3000PSI
      3. Swage the fitting progressively until it achieves a diameter of 13.0mm (+/- 0.4mm)
      4. Slide the Heat Shrink over the compressed swage sleeve forming the loop and change ends
  6. Apply heat using a Heat Gun to the Heat Shrink Tubing to complete the wire
