Description

This Battery Powered Cordless 5.5T Hydraulic Swager lets you swage all day long with replaceable 18V Lithium Ion battery packs (Makita compatible). Our EP Series Hydraulic Swaging Tool generates the equivalent of a MASSIVE 64 Tons / in² with its dies and is industry fabrication quality and IMHO – one of the best hand tools around. Even though its 5.5T at the head, because the dies have a smaller area/width, it works like a charm. As well, this tool also has the improved lever shafts secured with an adjustable “Lock On” pressure dial – made stronger to last longer.

Our specially hardened Dies are what are required to ‘swage’ a ferrule or stainless steel fitting. These dies are sold separately either individually or in a set. Standard generic dies are hexagonally shaped and work on stainless steel fittings suiting up to 4mm wire rope. Special Order Dies are available in two shapes that suits

• crimping of hourglass swages (up to 6mm) and
• swaging Nicopress type Oval Swages (up to 4mm).

Application: This Battery Powered Hydraulic Swager generates 5.5 Tons ‘at the head’ – which means when the area of the dies is considered – the effective pressure is 64 Tons per square inch or over 120,000 lbs per square inchor over 890,000 KPa.That is enormous and has the ability to “pressure weld” the fittings into the wire rope.

To manage this pressure, this tool has a ‘pre-set’ pressure valve to every swage is perfect and achieved at the same pressure. It also works as a safety valve so that you don’t inadvertently damage the tool. An advanced-retract control for the ram is located in the moveable handle. Once the pre-set pressure is achieved, there is an audible bypass sound and the jaws retract.

As well, 2 Speed Compression is afforded by an internal valve automatically shifts from the low pressure pump stage to the high pressure compression stage. This provides our Rapid Advance Feature. The switch occurs with a smooth transition at the point of contact with a fitting.

Full visibility of the working area is afforded by the narrow, 180° swivel “C” head, making it easy to position the dies on the fitting and scissor jaws make for rapid use.
