Manual Swaged Galvanised Steel Wire Anchor Loop Kit terminates wire rope. This is a “materials only” kit – both Tools and Shop Services are available separately. The Manual Swaged Anchor Loops require a thimble and an hourglass swage sleeve. This is considered a “Hard Eye” as the thimbles reinforce the loop. (A Soft Eye does NOT use a thimble) Swages fasten and secure the wire.

Hard Eye Swage Kit Galvanised Steel Wire Anchor Loop Kit terminates wire rope. This is a “materials only” kit – both Tools and Shop Services are available separately. The Manual Swaged Anchor Loops require a thimble and an hourglass swage sleeve. This is considered a “Hard Eye” as the thimbles reinforce the loop. (A Soft Eye does NOT use a thimble) Swages fasten and secure the wire. Copper or nickel plated copper swages do not react with Galvanised Steel Wire Rope. Aluminium reacts with stainless steel. However, aluminium swages do NOT react with galvanised wire rope and are recommended. A properly sized manual swaging tool is required. Each tool operates with a specific range of wire diameters. A swaging tool swages or crimps the hourglass (shaped) ferrule (swage). Additionally, anchor loops fasten with many types of anchor points on a structure. These include saddles, links, and turnbuckles.
Usage: Our Hard Eye Swage Kit Galvanised Steel Wire kits terminate wire ends. Consequently, anchor loops connect open turnbuckles, closed turnbuckles, manually swaged fittings, and hydraulically swaged terminals. Swages and thimbles are in sizes that work with a specific size (range) of wire or rope. Thimbles protect the wire anchor loops. Consequently, the thimble distributes the load on the wire. This protects the wire from a radius that is tighter/smaller than is recommended. Hand Swaged Anchor Loops fasten wire to open turnbuckles, closed turnbuckles, manually swaged fittings, and hydraulically swaged terminals.
