Description

Hook Hook Turnbuckle Pad Eye Spring Hook 4CTT Kit suits a square Shade Sail of (hence the 4C or Four Corner=Square) mounted to a timber structure. There are two tensioning points and four attachment points. Attachments are four square Pad Eyes. These attach directly into Timber posts (hence the TT or Timber to Timber).

Application: All four Pad Eyes are attached to the mounting surfaces. It is recommended that the attachment points are NOT all on the same plane. Same plane installations make it extremely hard to achieve adequate and effective tension in the sail.

First, use the snap hooks to locate two of the corners to two of the Pad Eyes – approximately 90 degrees apart. Use the Hook Hook Turnbuckles (for sail tensioning) on the two remaining orthogonal corners of the sail. This allows the sail to be ‘stretched’ in two axis when attached to the appropriate Pad Eyes. The result should be a strong line of tension in at least 1 axis across the middle of the sail.

If the tension is seen as inadequate, stainless steel wire may be placed under the Sail, ‘cut to length’, and installed separately to provide additional rigidity. Please make sure you expand the turnbuckles before measurement and drill the attachment Posts posts with pilot holes adequate for the screws in the Pad Eyes
