Swage Lag Screws (or Swaged Lag Screw) are fastening points that anchor a run of wire into a post. This fitting is available in LHT and RHT for 3.2mm or 4.0mm wire rope. Conveniently, the Lag Screw attaches into either pine or hardwood. There is more than enough bite. And you avoid the possibility of torqueing off a into hard timber by using a pilot hole. The Lag Swage Screw suits only hydraulically swaged installations.
Usage: This fitting swages hydraulically to the wire rope. The fitting then attaches to the timber posts or uprights that form the frame or area that will contain the wire. The Swage Lag Screw G316 Stainless Steel terminals suit a single diameter of wire. Applications include other fittings – normally with a similar swaging style – that work with the same diameter of wire rope. They are used extensively in our Slimline SR (Short Run) Balustrade Kits. Often they are paired with either the opposite threaded Lag Screw or some sort of closed turnbuckle, or even a swage stud if linking Timber to Metal posts when used in Balustrade Kits.
