Oval Aluminium Swage Sleeves ALL SIZES

Oval Aluminium Swage Sleeves – also known as crimps, clamps, or ferrules. Additionally, these Swage Sleeves are oval in shape and conform to internationally accepted standards (EN 13411-3 and DIN 3093 are the standards to which these items are produced). Generally, we recommend swaging these Sleeves with a Hydraulic Press to retain a predictable finish and reliable MBS. Sleeves below 3mm may be crimped manually, but larger OVAL sleeves MUST be swaged hydraulically. Proper sizing and swaging technique using Swage Sleeve splicing confers 90% of the wire rope breaking strength given the resultant splice conforms with published and tested tables.

Usage: The Oval Aluminium Swage Sleeves suit galvanised wire applications. Our aluminium alloy is not-compatible with any Stainless Steel Wire Rope. Oval Swage Sleeves require thimbles (the tear drop shaped thin strips of metal that go inside of the Terminating Loop). Sleeves with thimbles distribute the force of the bearing point evenly. Consequently, this minimizes wear and stretch on the wire cable. The swage and thimble are then secured using an appropriate crimping tool. Swage Sleeves sizing is precise. As a result, a Swage Sleeve fits a limited range of wire diameters. Zinc or Galvanised Steel thimbles complement these Swage Sleeves.
