Safety Wire 7kN 3.2mm/4.0mm 2000mm SHSH-6mm Coated Black 7×19 G316 Stainless Steel

Materials per wire:

  1. 2 x 3.2mm Nickel Coated Copper Hourglass Swage Sleeve
  2. 2 x 35mm 8.0mm Black Double Wall 4:1 Heatshrink
  3. 2 x 3.0mm Stainless Steel Thimbles
  4. Blank of Black Coated 3.2mm/4.0mm 7×19 G316 Stainless Steel Wire Rope

Construction

  1. Cut Wire Blanks of Black Coated 3.2mm/4.0mm 7×19 G316 Stainless Steel Wire Rope where CoE2CoE Target length is 2000mm
  2. Each Spring Hook adds 53mm from the bearing point of the hard eye
  3. Each Hard Eye provides 40mm, which uses up 92mm of wire so an additional 52mm is needed to complete the “hard eye”
  4. Cut blanks to 1198mm = 2000 – (2 *53mm) – (2*40.0mm) + (2*92.0mm)
  5. Strip 95mm of coating from each end
  6. Slip both pieces of the Heat Shrink over one end of the blank
  7. For each end:
    1. Use the 3.2mm Hourglass Nickel Coated Copper Swage Sleeve to hold the Hard Eye, allowing 1.0mm of wire to protrude on the backside of the swage sleeve
    2. Using the 3.0mm Bench Swaging Jaws, press the oval swage sleeve to a round tube shape
    3. Slide the Heat Shrink over the (now) round swage sleeve forming the loop and change ends
  8. Apply heat using a Heat Gun to the Heat Shrink Tubing to complete the wire.
