Safety Wire HEHE 3.2mm 120mm 7X7 G316 Stainless Steel

Materials: for each wire

  • 2 – 3mm hourglass nickel coated copper swages
  • 2 – 3mm 316 stainless steel thimbles
  • a Blank of 3.2mm 7×7 G316 Stainless Steel Wire Rope

Construction:

    1. The length of each Hard Eye 40mm, which uses up 95mm of wire so an additional 55mm is needed to complete the “hard eye”
    2. Cut blanks to 230mm = 120 – (2*40) + (2*95mm)
    3. For each end:
      1. Use the 3.0mm Hourglass Nickel Coated Copper Swage Sleeve to hold the Soft Eye
      2. Using the Manual BenchSwager, let the springs clamp down on the sleeve in the #3 hole
      3. Slide in  the 3.0mm Stainless Steel Thimble, allowing 1.5mm of wire to protrude on the backside of the swage sleeve
      4. Using the #3 hole in the Manual Bench Swager, progressively press the swage sleeve

Client Notes:

We just need 3.2mm stainless wire swaged with an eye at each end to accept an 8mm bolt. The ‘eye centre to eye centre’ measurement should be 120mm (+/-2mm is fine).
