Safety Wire 1000mm Black 7X7 2.5mm/3.5mm G316 Stainless Steel

Materials per wire:

  1. 2 x 3.5mm Oval Aluminium Swage Sleeve
  2. 2 x 35mm Length of Black 8.0mm 4:1 Double Wall Adhesive Heat Shrink Tubing.
  3. 2 x 3.0mm Stainless Steel Thimbles
  4. Blank of Black PVC Coated 2.5mm/3.5mm 7×7 G316 Stainless Steel Wire Rope

Construction:

  1. The Hard Eye uses up 42mm to bottom of uncrimped Oval Sleeve (when around the thimble) to the outside edge when creating Hard Eye and wire needs to extend past from the front of the swage sleeve by 92mm to complete the “soft eye”
  2. Cut blanks to 1108mm = 1000 – (2*42mm) + (2*96mm)
  3. Slip both pieces of the Heat Shrink over one end of the blank
  4. Use the 3.5mm Oval Aluminium Swage Sleeve to hold the Hard Eye formed to length, allowing 0.0mm of wire to protrude on the backside of the swage sleeve
  5. Using the Crimping jaws on the 240C Swaging head – round shape for 3.5mm Oval Swages in the Hydraulic Bench Press and press the oval swage sleeve to ~3000PSI – repeat for both ends.
  6. Slide the Heat Shrink over the (now) round swage sleeve forming the loop and change ends
  7. Apply heat using a Heat Gun to the Heat Shrink Tubing covering the swage for the soft eye to complete the wire.
