Description

Hook Eye Turnbuckle Thimble Grips Long Screw Eye SRTT kit suits a suspension, guy or catenary wire, 10 meters or less in length (hence SR or Short Run). There a single tensioning point and two attachment points. attachments are two 6mmx75mm (Long) Lag Eye Screws. These attach directly into softwood or hardwood timber posts (hence the TT or Timber to Timber).

Application: The first end of the wire attaches to a Hook Open Turnbuckle (for wire tensioning). The eye of the turnbuckle is connected to the wire with three wire rope grips and a thimble. The hook of this attaches to the first 50mm Screw Eye. The other Screw Eye attaches to the wire using a terminal loop formed with the second thimble and another three wire rope grips. Both Screw Eyes fasten to a timber post or wall. Wire may be installed and ‘cut to length’ or left longer for adjustment later. Please make sure you expand the turnbuckles before measurement. Alternately, if you build the wire before you install it, then the length of a wire run is determined by the ‘inside to inside’ post measurement less a fixed amount which represents the distance between the attachment posts ‘taken up’ by the fittings when installed and adjusted properly.
