Wire Rope Grip 6.0mm Galvanised Steel fasten the ends of wire back onto itself. Our style of galvanised wire rope grip is the Australian Standard AS2076. These ‘swageless’ wire fittings are called bulldog clips as well. In addition, they fasten by using a wrench and do not require hydraulic or manual hand swaging. As a result, wire rope grips suit when hand swages are not appropriate. These fittings suit High and Medium Flexibility Stainless Steel Wire Rope. Each galvanised wire rope grip size works with a specific size of wire. The Wire Rope Grip 6.0mm suits 6.0mm Galvanised Wire Rope
Usage: The Galvanised Wire Rope Grips require thimble securely form a terminal wire loop. Logically, galvanised wire rope requires proper galvanised thimbles. Stainless thimbles may suffice while zinc coated thimbles are cheaper. The preferred thimble for galvanised wire rope is a hot dipped galvanised AS1138 style. Additionally, safety is paramount. Firstly, please plan on using 2 grips to secure each loop for ‘small diameter wire’ (<4.0mm). Secondly, plan to use 3 grips for all larger diameter wire loops. Finally, do not over tension the Grips. Firm pressure is good while excess pressure can cause failure. Excess torque will strip the nuts or shear the thread. And the wire will not be happy at all either
